For the last three months, Covid-19 has been on the minds of most everyone in our society. The extent and impact of this novel strain of coronavirus has been felt globally. A microscopic pathogen has upset many of the world’s largest governments and economies. We have now entered a phase of this disease that is rife with politics. It seems that opinions are split right down the middle as to how we should respond to this virus. Covid-shaming is real. And frankly, that’s a shame. Our whole nation is dealing with this together. To try to blame and shame someone who doesn’t hold your exact view or method of response doesn’t help the matter. I have sat amazed that something that originated from the other side of the world could affect the entire scope of American life- yet it has.
As the world quickly races to produce better therapeutics to treat the virus, along with a vaccine for the virus, there’s something else we should consider. Why do viruses like Covid-19 even exist? Human sickness points to a larger problem with the human race: sin sickness. Contrary to popular opinion humanity is not the product of evolution. Evolution is a scientific theory, not scientific fact. It’s a theory based on chance. The truth is humanity is the product of creation. We were created. God created us. God made the Earth and all it contains. God made the earth good. God made us good. God gave us one stipulation to life on this earth. We could partake of every tree for food that was made except for one: the tree of the knowledge of good and evil. We transgressed that commandment and unleashed sin into the human race. With sin came all the negative attributes of humanity we now know. The same is true for nature itself. Once in perfect harmony, it is now upset by the curse we unleashed upon it.
Life is short; that’s a reality. Death has a perfect success rate. God in His mercy provided a cure to humanity’s sin problem. Enter the most amazing story of love and redemption the mind can fathom. God sent His Son in the likeness of sinful flesh to condemn sin in the flesh. Jesus was fully God and fully man. He lived sinlessly. He was betrayed by one of His disciples. He was falsely accused. He underwent a mock trial. He was condemned to death for crimes He did not commit. He was crucified. He was buried. Three days later He arose. He is alive forevermore. He is ascended on High. He is able to save anyone that comes to God by Him. Jesus underwent what He did on behalf of all humanity. God is often blamed for all man’s ills and all the Earth’s imbalances in nature. How ironic. The one who has provided the cure is blamed for the cause. God in His love sent His only begotten Son into the world not to condemn it, but to save it. Jesus does not provide immunity to Covid-19. Nor does He provide immunity to any other disease. What He does provide is immunity from eternal death. He is eternal life. To know Him is to have eternal life. Would you like to know Him personally? You can. Click here for more info about how you can be saved.
